All surfaces should be clean, dry, sound and free from contaminants. New wood should be sanded prior to coating, while existing painted surfaces should be cleaned, degreased and sanded – this is to ensure an adequate ‘key’ is produced.
Remove all loose, flaking material and treat bare areas as new substrate, then prepare accordingly. Ensure no sediment is left on the bottom of the can, and that the product is thoroughly mixed. This is required to ensure a consistent sheen level throughout the application.
